Company Profile (June 2020)
Biovert Protein is an insect technology company upcycling organic waste into sustainable raw materials for use by industrial customers in the production of their products. The company was founded by seasoned food industry executive Peter Hamilton in 2020. Hamilton had previously worked in senior management roles for FMCG companies operating in the APAC region, and has experience as an operations startup leader for two separate greenfield manufacturing plants in Asia.
After realising the simplicity and powerful circular economy solution that the commonly found black soldier fly insect can provide in reducing the climatic impact of organic waste on our environment, the two agreed to join forces in early 2020, and operate their first insect technology plant in Thailand, before expanding to other countries.
